Remembering China’s Past and Preparing for their Future
The balance of power in the international system is shifting. The United States has to make room for rising powers, the most prominent of which is of course China. The West need to react to this change but their hands could be tied if they seek to satisfy other allies in East Asia. The unresolved history between China and Japan produces a hostile relationship between the two powers, as shown by the heated debate over the Diaoyu islands, and the West needs to be aware of this.

I just picked up my coaching stipend for the season.
Guys,
SHOULD I DO IT?!
I did it.
Wait you did.
What type of strings will you be using?
I went with Wilson Sensation 17 @ 52 lbs. and Babolat Pro Hurricane @ 48 lbs.
Having been playing with head sizes of 90 to 88 sq.in. the past few years I knew I personally needed a thinner gauge string (though I usually have a differential of 3 between M and C; I felt adventurous today). Also trying not to spend so much money, I went with durable, yet inexpensive strings.
I really like the ‘multi/synthetic mains with poly crosses’ type of hybrid. The mains are what are expressed the most in a string bed, so I wanted the power and of the synthtics and have it dampened a bit with the polys in the crosses. This is similar to what Roger Federer does with his Babolat natural gut mains and Luxilon BBRough crosses (his tension range is any where between about 51/48 to 54/51).
The lower tensions have multiple functions. The tension will allow longer dwell time between the ball and the strings allow for noticeably more power. It also allows the strings to really bite, move, and then snap back better. This is actually why a lot of people suggest that polys perform better at tensions < 50 lbs. In past years I’ve used a full poly setup at @58 lbs. and it didn’t give me any feedback from the ball, didn’t produce the spin I needed, and gave me tennis elbow. Playing with an 85 sq.in. headsize would be terrible for a full poly setup and too high of tensions. Though I usually go for a 54/51 setup, I wanted it a bit lower with the smaller head size in mind.
I can’t wait to hit the courts with this!
You’re inspiring me to step my string/gut knowledge up.
Right now I’m using a blade 98 with nxt tour strings.

There are many ways of wearing the hijab, as photographer Sara Shamsavari’s pictures of Muslim women on the streets of London demonstrate. Her photographs are being exhibited at the Royal Festival Hall for International Women’s Day as part of the Women of the World festival

“One time Mother Jones was out in Colorado at the Great Ludlow Strike. Now that was the strike to enforce the eight hour day, which the state of Colorado had made a law. But they couldn’t enforce it because Rockefeller owned the militia. Now the Governor promised not to send the militia into the coal fields, but he lied, and he did. Mother Jones was in the Union Hall down there in Ludlow when word came that the militia had entered into the coal fields. Well, she leapt up and she screamed, ‘Let’s go get the Son’s of B**ches.’ And she stormed out. She didn’t look to see if anybody was following her. Nobody, was following her. She just flounced up the road alone, and confronted the militia. And that’s the year that President Theodore Roosevelt called Mother Jones, ‘The Most Dangerous Woman in America.’ And she was 83 years old.”
Now that’s some kind of dangerous

Hi! My name is October, I’m twenty-one years old from Memphis, TN, and I was recently accepted to my top choice university… in Australia. The University of Newcastle, Australia. And while the school is going to work with me on a payment plan, and it’s currently looking good with a few employers to let me work through until I leave (so I can secure my loans and make my plans), I’m having trouble with the deposit fee to secure my place in the program.
And my trouble is that… I don’t have the money. So my cousin suggested this website and helped me set up a fundraiser to hopefully make my goal.
Now, I understand it might seem sketchy. “She’s not paying her dues, she’s not working for her education.” Absolutely not true. I realize I have to work my way through school and I’m proud to do that, but sometimes, people just need help.
But it’s not like I’m going to my dream school and have no dreams or goals for what I want to do there. I’m going to study history and politics. From there, I hope to go on and receive my masters in international law. I’d like to learn how the world works on a political level; past, present, and in the future, be apart of those processes.
I’d also like to start a network of scholarships for kids who don’t meet the standard requirements. I went to a satellite school so I didn’t have the most conventional high school experience, so I don’t meet many scholarship requirements. And when I do meet the scholarship requirements, the scholarships are only available for institutions within the United States of America.
So here I am with big dreams in a little pond while opportunity is knocking on the metaphorical door. And I really appreciate anybody who gives any thing. It means so much to me.
Thank you.
